Disabled in Panama

Met with a local Panamanian yesterday because I am learning more about disability culture here in Panama. I never see people in wheelchairs anywhere I go. He told me that most people who needs wheelchairs do not have them, so they sit at home on the couch or in a chair. I know through my research if you are born with a disability here in Panama there are no services. If you acquire a disability there are some services but none that I can find that are spelled out exactly. He then informed me the hardest task will be the social acceptance of people with disabilities. — feeling motivated in Playa Coronado, Panama.
